We Buy Supplies in Almost Any Box Condition
One of the most common questions sellers ask us is: "My boxes are not in perfect condition will you still buy them?" In most cases, yes. Surplus Toner Buyer has developed a detailed box condition grading system that allows us to evaluate and price items across a wide range of packaging states.
The condition of the product inside the box matters most. If the OEM cartridge, drum, fuser, or other supply is new and unused, there is a good chance we are interested regardless of what the outside of the box looks like.
Box Condition Rating Scale: A Through F + PG
Grade A Perfect
A Grade A box is in perfect, untouched condition. It has no labels (beyond original manufacturer labeling), no tape or tape residue, no writing or pen marks, and no dents, creases, or tears anywhere on the exterior. These units command the highest purchase prices and are ideal for resale in their original packaging.
Grade B Almost Perfect
A Grade B box is nearly flawless, with only minor markings that may be partially restorable. This typically means a small amount of handwriting, a light sticker, or a faint pen mark that does not significantly affect the appearance of the box. The packaging is otherwise clean and intact.
Grade C Good Shape
A Grade C box shows moderate cosmetic wear. This may include small rips or tears on the exterior panels, light denting at corners, or labels that have been removed incorrectly, leaving residue or paper tears. The box retains its structural integrity and the product inside is fully protected.
Grade D More Wear
A Grade D box has sustained more significant damage. This includes larger tears, labels that have been cut away, prominent handwriting or large markings on the exterior, substantial dents, or in some cases small holes in the box surface. The product inside must still be new and unused.
Grade F Previously Opened Box
A Grade F item has packaging that has been opened the original manufacturer seal has been broken or removed. The product inside is genuine OEM and has never been installed or used, but the box has been accessed. All original contents should be present.
Grade PG Plug (No Box)
A PG-rated item is a genuine OEM cartridge or supply that has no original box at all. The unit is sealed in its original bag and bubble-wrapped for protection. These items are shipped in a plain brown corrugated box. PG units are fully genuine OEM products they simply lack their original retail packaging.
